15 Involved In Auto Accident On Ilesa-Ile-Ife Highway

Fifteen persons were involved in a motor accident on Ilesa-Ile-Ife highway on Tuesday.

The Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun, Mrs. Kudirat Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident, said one person lost her live in the accident.

Ibrahim noted that the accident occurred due to a collision between two vehicles, which involved 15 people at about 1:30pm, with three men and 11 female injured

Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to CityMirrorNews by the Command Public Enlightenment Officer , Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi , in Osogbo.

Ibrahim said , ” The accident occurred due to a collision between a Toyota Hiace with registration number BDS 505 XA, and a Hummer Jeep with registration number unknown , 7km from Army Base at Ileki-Ijesa area,after Obadare (wosem) Ilesa- Ile-Ife Express way, Osun.

” The incident happened at about 1:30pm this afternoon involving 15 persons, 7km from Army Base Ileki-Ijesa area,after Obadare (wosem) Ilesa- Ife Express way.

” A lady lost her life , while three men and 11 female got injured and have been taken to Wesley Hospital in Ilesa for further treatment,” she said

According to her, the accident occurred due to speeding by the vehicle owners without any safety consciousness and total disobedient to the road traffic regulations.

The sector commander further said the recovered items at the spot of the accident scene include galloons of Diesel Oil , and sacks among other things .

She advised motorists to be self conscious and also adhere to road traffic laws to avoid accidents which would either lead to severe injuries or death .

Ibrahim , therefore , called on road users to adhere to road traffic laws in order to reduce carnage on highways
