Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation Commends Oyetola For priotising Pensioners, Workers’ Welfare

A group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation has commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for giving priority to workers’ welfare.

AGF Coordinator, Comrade Sikiru Tijani gave the commendation on Thursday while fielding questions from Journalists in Osogbo, the state capital.

Tijani who was commenting on the recent approval given by the Governor to release a sum of five hundred million for the payment of entitlements to retired workers in Contributory Pensions Scheme said there was no gainsaying that Governor Oyetola is sensitive to the yearning of pensioners.

The Osun AGF Coordinator further explained that, since the inception of the present administration, workers and pensioners have been enjoying the benefits of what they laboured for on monthly basis.

He urged the governor to sustain the tempo, saying that people of the state would in no distance time reciprocate the gusture. He therefore urged workers to continue to support Governor Oyetola in his bid to take the state to the next level of greatness and development.

According to the coordinator, “Members of the Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation in Osun state are very happy when the news of the approval for the release of a sum of five hundred million naira for the payment of entitlement to retired workers in Contributory Pensions Scheme breaks .

“We are all aware of Governor Gboyega Oyetola sensitivity to the yearning of the workers and pensioners in the state. We are very optimistic that in no distance time, the people of the state would resprocate the gusture.

“We want to urge the people of the to continue to support the Governor in his bid to take the state to the next level of greatness and development,” Tijani said.

The Governor had in statement signed by the Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega approved and released a sum of five hundred million for the payments of entitlements to retired workers in Contributory Pensions Scheme.

The names of the beneficiaries were picked on merit and monitored by the executive committee of the Association of the group.

The names of the beneficiaries according to the release would be posted on the public notice board of the State Pension Board on Thursday 6th February, 2020.

The bond certificates for the beneficiaries will be presented to the beneficiaries on 14th February, 2020 by the Governor.

The Governor had also released another fifty million Naira for the part payment of gratuities to retirees in the old Pension Scheme. Two hundred and fifty retirees have been picked on merit for payment.
