CityMirrorNews findings revealed that some community leaders have contacted the monarch to confirm what have led to the unfortunate incident, in his confession statement, the president of Ileogbo Unity Forum, Evangelist Remi Osuolale, wrote: “My dear patriotic citizens of Ileogbo kingdom, I wish to address you on the destruction of Dr.(Mrs) Teju Ogunrinde’s perimeter fence surrounding her landed property located along Ileogbo-Iwo road, in the early hours of yesterday and today. You will remember that I. U. F , through the national publicity secretary has already condemned the dastardly act in strong terms, immediately the bad news filtered out yesterday. As the national President of Ileogbo unity forum(I.U.F), it is my duty to protect the interest and safeguard the welfare of Ileogbo citizens at home and in the diaspora. In the light of this, I made a contact with Kabiyesi, the OLu of Ileogbo to find out who could have been responsible for the unwarranted destruction of Dr. Ogunrinde’s property.

“Upon investigation, kabiyesi confirmed to me that he ordered that the fence be pulled down, thinking that the landed property must have been sold out illegally by the notorious Okesaji people. Kabiyesi further stated that he never knew the property belongs to Dr. Teju Ogunrinde until this morning.

My dear good citizens of Ileogbo, I urge you all to keep calm while efforts to address the issue are intensified. I equally appeal to our people in the diaspora not to allow the ugly event to discourage their patriotic zeal in coming home to develop our ancestral home. I thank you all. Evangelist Remi OSUOLALE (I. U. F) national president”

The Ileogbo born Teju is a medical doctor expert in the USA running a free medical services in his hometown, Ileogbo as a means of giving back to his community.

Dr. Teju condemned the destruction in strong term, calling on government to prevail and ensure Justice is served.

According to Teju ”
On behalf of my immediate family, I want to thank those that have reached out to me and those that have publicly denounced this act of callousness in destroying my property and those of others in the area. It should be considered shameful and barbaric that all sons and daughters of the land can agree”.

“When I came back to Ileogbo a few years ago, I had such great hope and felt so encouraged during the clinic opening that I realized there should be another way to support the funding of the clinic by having an event center. I also made it clear that my passion is to give back to community that nurtured me in the early days. I absolutely do not have any political ambitions or in competition with anyone”

“If you remember my first medical mission at the health center on Station road, we saw over 2000people between the group. I saw a diabetic patient then with a big sore on the head that she covered everyday, but more importantly the diabetes was so bad, it was already affecting her mental state – most people thought she was going crazy. But that trip saved her life. She was given insulin that day and with frequent medicine during subsequent follow ups, the sore healed, no more mental illness and she returned to doing her business, even after 10years. This has been one of my key motivation”

“I understand many have been victimized as well in the past through the hands of those that are expected to care for the town”

“No one should be excused for destroying others property by claiming mistaking identity – as no one should acclaim to themselves such power, not the king or anyone acting outside the courts. So we must not excuse such ignorance in today’s light”.

“I heard some in the background are questioning the ownership of my land, I can assure you that the purchase was done legally through the government”

“Those with such thoughts should also be educated enough to know that we are not in the dark ages, we are all bounded to operate within the law. For peace to rain, every individual need to abide and respect the law, not to take laws in their hand and/or to intimidate others”

“I am calling on our leaders and other well meaning citizens of Ileogbo whom I continue to respect- the likes of Gen Nafiu, Eng Adeleke, Mr Ogunbiyi, IUF, IDF, to name a few to stand with the victims to make our community part of a civilized society. We don’t need hoodlums riding in the middle of the night to intimidate others. We want to feel safe in our town”

“Most people on various platform have denounced the people that did this evil act and will continue to hope that the denunciation is extended to all those that physically did it and those that facilitated it”

“Eventually, I believe the rule of law will prevail and good will overcome evil”

The petitioner called on police to investigate the incident and make the perpetrators to face the music

All efforts to speak with the monarch prove abortive as at time of filing this report as the monarch could not be reached.
