Remote Control Comment: PDP Blasts Buhari Over Osun Governorship Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari, over statement reportedly made by the president during his meeting with traditional rulers in Osun State on Saturday.

The president was alleged to have said that his party, All Progressive Congress (APC), won the last governorship election in Osun State by remote control.

The party alleged that President Buhari purportedly made the statement during his meeting with traditional rulers when he took his reelection campaign to Osun State.

The PDP described the purported statement as a confirmation that the President was actively involved in the ‘electoral robbery’ of the governorship rerun that took place on the 27th of September, 2018.

The PDP in a statement issued by its state Chairman, Hon Soji Adagunodo, and made available to news men on Sunday, described the purported statement of the president as a “confession to electoral robbery and influence peddling which are the highest forms of corruption.

The statement said it was shameful that the President of Africa’s most important Nation could make such a reckless endorsement of criminality.

The PDP therefore called on the election petition tribunal currently sitting on the last governorship election in Osun State to take note of the “confession made by President Buhari who is the leader of the APC.

The party also called on Civil society organisations and International observer groups to “regard President Buhari’s confession on the Osun electoral robbery with seriousness in view of the various acts of desperation being exhibited by the APC Presidential candidate ahead of next month’s general election.
