In a bid to further boost the internally generated revenue and block leakages in Osun, the state government has introduced a multi-faced Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) credit software solution to the state IGR collection banks.

The new credit software solution which is expected to complement the existing E-pay platform will assist intending tax/levy payers to make their payments seamlessly while at the same time eliminate the bottle necks which IGR collection banks go through.

Supervisor for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji stated this in Osogbo during a meeting which was used to introduce the new credit software solution to the IGR collection banks in the state.

Speaking further at the meeting which was put together in collaboration with the state’s consultant on IGR, Infinity Systems Enterprise, Oyebamiji explained that the new software is also for the purpose of making payments conveninient for the payers as well as the collectors.

He said while the new software which is expected to commence full operations from 18th March has been developed to make the job of IGR collecting banks easier, it also comes with an added advantage as it will not restrict the banks to just collecting payments from within Osun alone.

According to him, “we are working and we will continue to work on better and more efficient application to boost our revenue in Osun. This is for the purpose of boosting the IGR in Osun and we shall continue strive to improve it.

“this is the focus of government for the benefit of everybody and the growth of our state. As technology is improving, we don’t need to restrict willing tax payers to visit banking halls before they make their payments.

“we want a seamless way of making payments to the state, we want to reduce bottlenecks on the part of the collecting banks, this will enable taxpayers to pay from anywhere and not necessarily visit Osun.

“this new system will also put an end to double posting and also assist the payer to get his/her receipt reference directly through the email or phone number”. Oyebamiji stated.

In her remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mrs Adebimpe Ogunlumade called for a concerted effort from all stakeholders to block leakages and improve the state’s IGR collection for the benefit of the entire state.

She commended the Oyetola administration for always striving to improve the welfare of the people in the state.

Also speaking, the Osun Project Coordinator for Infinity Systems Enterprise, Mr Akeem Amusa said the the new credit software solution being introduced will no doubt go a long way in blocking leakages and further boost the IGR of the state.
