Comrade Ola Oni: Aregbesola Tasks Activists On Ideological Activism

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has called on all human right activists not to be discouraged in fighting for what is just and the social well-being of the people for a better society of their dream.

Aregbesola who spoke in Yoruba language, made the disclosure while speaking at the remembrance of Comrade Ola Oni who died twenty years ago.

The interior Minister who was the close associate of the late Ola Oni said he (Ola Oni ) played vital roles in sustaining a civilized and self reliant society during his life time through his ideological activism.

He further emphasised that fighting for human rights is a must for any society, state or country and that is the reason why activists must remain upright while agitating for justice and truth without fear.

He described Comrade Ola Oni as a peaceful man who he said taught him ‘Aregbesola’ many things in politics during his life time.

He however, prayed for the deceased soul to continue to rest in perfect peace.

According to Aregbesola, “Comrade Ola Oni is a mentor that taught me many things when he was alive. We always stay with Comrade because we always learnt from his wealth of knowledge.

“Comrade is a visionary leader, he forecasted that the economic of the country will be worse, but we don’t know that the situation will get to this level to the extent that citizens would find it difficulty to afford three square meals,” Aregbesola added.

The Director of Comrade Ola-oni Centre for Social Research, Wale Adebisi urged activists to be upright, cautious of their decisions and emulate the late comrade in all conducts.

He also charged the followers of the late comrade to follow his ideological revolution in order to prevent contradiction in their activism.
