Ahead of the 2020 Ondo state governorship election, a group, Ondo State APC Youth For Good Governance (OSAYGG) has called on stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) particularly its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole to ignore those Abuja political lobbyists.

The group in a letter sent to the APC National body, after its meeting in Akure, at the weekend and signed by its coordinator, Ademola Ajayi particularly urged the party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole to shun those trying to mislead the National Working Committee (NWC) into wrong decisions that would bring misfortune to the party after the next governorship election.

The group noted that the ruling party could only win back the lost grounds of recent elections by fielding only credible candidates with good names and popularity from the zone that is regarded as home-base of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

The letter reads, “Figures don’t lie, we buttress our submissions with statiscal facts and figures of the past successive elections result in the state to assist the party’s leadership in arriving at evidence -informed decisions.

“Our interest in this is nothing personal, but how APC will win the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state”

The group regretted that both Olusola Oke and Ife Oyedele, who are both from Ondo South have allegedly relocated to Abuja, moving around corridors of power, boasting their strong connections with Oshiomhole and President Muhammadu Buhari.

It noted that Ondo South is the origin of PDP in the state, stressing that any APC candidate from the zone will eventually end up re-joining their ancestral party-PDP.

The group said” majority of Ondo APC stakeholders have agreed that Ondo North should still produce the next APC governorship candidate, but such a person must be credible and acceptable by majority party members.

The group sought the support of the National leadership of the party to present a popular candidate, stressing that for now, the party can only win 30 percent of votes in the state.

Apart from Oshiomhole, copies of the letter were also sent to the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Deputy Senate Leader, Ajayi Boroffice and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.
