A former Commissioner for Social Protection, Sports and Special Needs in Osun State, Comrade Biyi Odunlade has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State on the victory of the party at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday.

He said that the judgment does not come as a surprise because “we knew that the former Vice President and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February Presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had no case in the first instance.”

The former Commissioner added that PDP and its candidate were utterly wounded, brutalised and roundly beaten by President Muhammadu Buhari whose popularity can not be matched by any of the PDP members.

In a press release issued by Odunlade media aide, Matthew Afolabi after the judgement, the former Commissioner said, “The tribunal has just affirmed what we all know that President Buhari was not only qualified to contest but ’eminently qualified’. It is only mischieve makers that can ignorantly contend that a Commissioned Officer who went for advanced studies in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Pakistan, India, and other countries and rose from the ranks to become a Military General would not have an O’level certificate.

“Buhari did not just beat Atiku and PDP, they were roundly beaten and their egos utterly wounded by Nigerians who overwhelmingly rejected their party and candidate.” He said.

The former Commissioner noted that Nigerians have experienced change and knows that it can only get better in the ‘Next Level’.

“The APC came with the change agenda with President Buhari as the lead change agent. Nigerians felt the change and reaffirmed confidence not only in the party but our candidates and that was why we gained more elected positions in the last election because our people have rejected the Poverty Development Party.” He said.

He, however, advised the petitioners not to further waste the nation’s resources on a dead-end by going to the Supreme Court saying that “what do they want to prove at the Supreme Court that they have failed to prove and rejected at the tribunal?

Odunlade urged the teeming APC members and supporters to continue to support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the change agent in Osun state, governor Gboyega Oyetola as they focus on delivering on their campaign promises as courts have affirmed their legitimate mandates.
