The All Progressives Congress in Osun state has debunked the news making the round that the former Deputy Governor in the state, Iyiola Omisore reportedly directed that anybody found casting vote for the PDP and its House of Representatives candidate,Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro in the Saturday elections, should get his or her wrist severed’.

The party described the allegations as tissue of lie, baseless and frivolous.

According to the APC Chairman of Campaign and Election Committee, Ife Federal Constituency, Engr Bashir Awotorebo, said “we denounce the allegations in its entirety.”

“It has come to our attention that a national newspaper published today, Monday, February 11, 2019 that Senator Iyiola Omisore  in one of his political engagements in Ile Ife was reported to have told his supporters that he (Omisore) ‘directed that anybody found casting vote for the PDP and its House of Representatives candidate,  Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro in the Saturday elections, should get his or her wrist severed’.

“This is a lie from the pit of hell’, according to Engr Bashir Awotorebo, who is the APC chairman of campaign and election committee, Ife Federal Constituency.

“We denounce this fake news in its entirety by the PDP.  If the party has nothing to campaign with, it is advised to step down from the race. No where, either in Ile Ife or outside did Omisore say such a stupid statement.

“We challenge them to produce the proof of the statement by Omisore.
“If the PDP felt intimidated by the APC/SDP campaign train across Ife land, we offer no apology for that, because the people of the zone have declared openly their preference for APC in the forthcoming general elections.

“Omisore led the APC/SDP coalition Campaign train to all nooks and crannies of Ife land, since Monday last week, with one strong message – reject PDP, vote APC.

“So, the PDP should stop hallucinating and surrender to the choices of people as represented by APC candidates across the land’, the APC concluded.
