The publicity Secretary of the party, Elder Ayo Fakeye in a statement issued said that the attack is barbaric.

According to him, “the era of imposition and attack on members of the opposition political parties ought to belong to the relics of our nation’s political history.

“But in a situation where members of our party were attacked during a meeting in Ijebu-Jesa, to me, such crude attack is unjustifiable,” Fakeye stressed.

The ADP spokesman therefore called on the security agencies in the state to investigate the unfortunate incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

“I want to use this opportunity to task the various officers and men of the security agencies in the state to investigate the unwarranted attack on our party members and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book,” Fakeye further stated.

He however charged members of the party not to be discouraged, as the attack is a signal to the fact that success is certain for the party come September 22 governorship election.

“My appeal to the members of our party in the state is that they should see the recent attack on our members as a sign that ADP has become the party to beat in the fast-approaching September 22 governorship election,”
