The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, on Regional Integration, Hon Wale Alabi on Saturday said the All Progressive Congress (APC) would not be involved in vote buying, popularly called “See and Buy” in the local parlance, during the state September 22 governorship election.
Alabi made the statement during the official campaign flag off of Osun R-Connect (a voluntary group in the APC) to sensitise and remind the people of the state of what Governor Aregbesola and APC led government have done/will still do and reason to retain the progressive government in office.
The SSA, who also doubles as the head of the R-Connect group, said the APC was not in anyway nurturing the idea or embracing the system of ‘see and buy’ in the coming governorship election.
‘If anybody is having or nurturing or want to embrace the system of ‘see and buy’, that would not be the APC.
“Some other political parties are sleeping in their house because they have that mindset that on the election day, they will just bring out money and buy votes.
“The APC, despite the fact that we have done a lot for the people of Osun, we are still not relenting on our efforts, as we are going out , talking to people, canvassing and begging them to let the development brought about by the APC government continue.
“We don’t believe in ‘see and buy’ and will never be part of it because vote buying has never been our way of handling things.” he said
While appealing to the people of the state to come out en masses and cast their vote for APC candidate, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the Head of R-connect group
said Aregbesola has done well in terms of infrastructures and human development for the people of Osun .
He said the only way to pay the governor back for the good things he has done in Osun is to vote APC noting that the infrastructures and human development is uncountable compared to the previous regime of other parties.
He explained that R – connect is a socal media team that promotes the government of APC because of his good impact to the State saying they are not founded by any Political parties but support any that did well for the state.
According to him the bads road leading to some major Street in Osogbo has been built as the town has now been turned to a real state capital.
He explained that the R-Connect group (which is a social media group) has taken it upon itself to go out to sensitise the general public on the reason why they should vote for APC government.
“The APC government has brought infrastructure and human development to the state and has given a lot to the people, and we think this is the right time for us to ask them to continue with the party.
“We are entering the markets and all the nooks and crannies of the state, local government areas to appeal to our people to vote for APC so that the good work will continue.” he said
He said the group will move
to all the local government areas in the state to seek for people’s support adding that the campaign would continue till the day the Independent National Electoral Commission stipulates that all political campaigns should end .
