The third edition of the Osun Youth Ambassador’s Awards will hold tomorrow, Sunday, August 26. 2018 with twenty-two personalities bagging awards in honour of their contributions to the society.

In a statement issued by the organiser of the event, Youth Reformers Initiative, on Saturday, the event would hold at Atlantis Civic Centre, Osogbo, Osun state.

The statement signed by the President of YRI, Aminat Alake Ajibola, traditional rulers such as the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi (TELU 1) and His Royal Majesty, The Olowu of Kuta, Oba AbdulHammed Adekunle Makama (Tegbosun 3).

Guest speaker at the programme is Dr. Dayo Sobowale (mNSE, R.Eng) as gvernment functionaries, Political Office Holders, Entrepreneurs, Community and Religious leaders, media practitioners are expected to grace the event.

“This programme is the third edition and it has always been specially and specifically organized to acknowledge the positive contributions of great, illustrious and industrious Sons and Daughters of Osun state who have distinguished themselves in their chosen field of endeavours, whose impacts and contribution to their community and fatherland has created for them a niche of excellence, on whose benchmark and commendable threshold we will be gathering on Sunday, August 26, 2018 to celebrate their feats, accomplishments as a way of inspiring and encouraging other youths, enhancing their capacity to do more in days and years to come.

“Our taste to contribute meaningfully to the sociopolitical space in orientation, culture, in education and economic frontiers and a clue to birth global recognition for excellence, to showcase the best products of our dear state, to impress the rewards of hard and smart works on coming and future generations is the major drive upon which we are annually committed to advance the course of this initiative.

“The misplacement of priorities in our immediate society is noticeable everywhere; in schools, religious centres, homes, offices which has overstretched the boarders of true reflection of youths. our creativity is dwindling, productivity abysmally low, urge for instant wealth without labour, drug abuse and other negative social vices calls for concern by all major stakeholders of the Osun and Nigeria project. Despite the above picture, we still have forward looking Nigerians who are forthright in their dealings and committed to a genuine cause which will advance the human race positively. They are our Ambassadors, they are our pride, they are the prestigious recipients of the OYAA 2018.

We subjected ourselves to first, discipline and courageous mentality to present the best, one major reason why we have carefully shortlisted 17 sons and daughters of our state whose entries among the several hundreds received are standing tall. We are most delighted to have worked with a great team in the selection process who disallow primordial, religious and ethnic sentiments to take preeminence over competence, outstanding excellence and value based impacts. Our standards are ethically professional,” YRI said.

The statement added that five other personalities who hail from outside Osun would also be honoured with awards at the programme.
