MAOS Holds AGM, Elects Jide Afolabi New National President

Members of Mass Communication Alumni of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, (MAOS) across the globe has elected Comrade Jide Afolabi as the new National President of the association.

The MAOS National election held at NUJ Press Center in Osogbo during the body’s Triennial Convention. The new set of executive members will run the affairs of the Association for the next two years.

The three presidential candidates included, Ojuolape Ukeme Bassy from Osun Chapter, Ismail Durojaiye also from Osun chapter, and Jide Afolabi from Abuja Chapter who was the eventual winner.

Other elected officers of MAOS are Oluwatobi Folorunsho, Vice President, Sanyaolu Ogunjobi, General Secretary, George Aderogba, Financial Secretary, Ajoke Iperepolu, Social Director, Oluwaseun Onafuwa, Treasurer, Kayode Ijitunmbi, Auditor while Adekunle Sikiru was elected the new Public Relations Officer.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Jide Afolabi, expressed gratitude to MAOS members at home and in the diaspora and commended immediate past executive members ably led by Mr Sunday Ojelabi.

According to him, “Special thanks to the MAOSIEC ably led by its Chairman, Pastor Oludele Tunde Campos who rose to the occasion and ensured that the election was not only free and fair but credible. I appreciate my co-contestants Mrs Ojuolape Odetola (Media Angel) and Mr Ismail Durojaiye Oladosu for their understanding and appreciation of the fact that MAOS is greater than us all.”

He stressed that in every contest, only one person emerges but in MAOS, we win together because we are a great family. “I appeal to all frayed nerves to calm down and join me and my team in building the MAOS of our dream.”

“I promise to serve you by raising the bar in terms of unity, accountability, transparency, efficiency and laudable projects.” He added

He pledged his readiness to fulfill his campaign promises and discharge his duties effectively and sincerely.
