A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and former gubernatorial aspirant in Osun State, Hon Albert Adeogun has congratulated the leadership of the Party on the successful governorship primary in the state during the weekend.

If I come on board as the state Governor, my first priotities are workers welfare including masses welfare and the economy of the state. It is an aberration to see some senior workers receiving half salaries and those receiving full being denied payment as at when due. This is callous and inhuman. It would sound incredible that commissioners are being owed salaries. That is not good enough. These lapses would be addressed and lives made better for the people.(photo file)

Adeogun who is also a lawmaker representing Ife Federal constituency also commended all the contestants at the primaries for exemplary display of maturity during and after the exercise urging them to carry the same spirit to the governorship election on Sept 22 in order to deliver the people of Osun state from the oppression by the ruling party.

Stressing that the overall victory of the party was the only way to restore the dignity and values of the state, the party chieftain called on those who lost out to Senator Adeleke to remember that total cooperation and commitment of all was the only way to defeat APC and bring succour to the people of the state who have been impoverished by the present Government.

He pointed out that the closeness of the scores of those who took part in the primaries was a confirmation of genuine democracy pervading the party adding that the reverse was the case in APC.

“During the primaries, there was transparency. There was peace and no attempt from any quarter to impose any candidate on the party. Really, I appreciate the spirit of sportmanship displayed by all the contestants, he said.

Hon. Adeogun advised that no member of the party should allow any bickering capable of creating distraction in their bid to snatch power from the ruling party on September 22 adding that all efforts to rig the election by the APC would be frustrated.

The lawmaker pointed out that the ruling party in the state and at the federal level has shot itself in the foot in view of the fact that all its promises made to the electorate were not fulfilled adding that life was made miserable for the masses.

“There is no security to lives and property. People are being massacred indiscriminately by the Fulani herders in many parts of the country. Boko Haram insurgency remains in the country. We should all team up to say no to a bad government,” he advised.

Adeogun pointed out that all the APC could do successfully was propaganda to deceive the masses and get their votes only to put them in years of agony adding “you can deceive some people some of the time but definitely not all the people all the time.”
