Convention: Okupe Becomes National Leader Of Accord, As Ajaja Emerges National Secretary

The leadership of Accord held their national convention at the nation’s capital last Thursday at the party Secretariat located at Jos street, Abuja where all the office holders were returns expect the position of national secretary that was clinched by Dr.(Mrs.) Bukola Ajaja, from Oyo State.

The Party’s convention which was witnessed by INEC officials and other security agencies was peaceful all through.”

The national working committee of the party appointed Alhaji Dokun Babarinde, immediate state Party chairman in Osun state as the South-West chairman and Dr Doyin Okupe, former president Goodluck Jonathan senior special assistant on public affairs as the national leader of the Party.”

Hon.Dr. (Mrs.) Bukola Ajaja, a former member, House of Representatives, from Oyo state emerged the national secretary which was occupied before by Dr. Nureni Adisa, a loyalist of Sen. Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, former Governor and leader of the party in Oyo state but who has since defected to People’s Democratic Party.”

Speaking at the convention Hon. Segun Ayodele Fanibe, Chairman, Accord Osun state said, “the party is moving at a high rate to systematically take governance at every strata of government in the Country.”

“Those who are piloting the affairs of the party in the last four years had really done a yeoman job which made them to be returned except the position of national secretary which the previous occupier defected to another.”

No doubt, those at the helms of affairs now will do wonderfully well, he said.”
