Osun 2018: OAPYF Coordinator, Olateju Adunni Urges Youth To Register For PVC

The Coordinator, Osun All Progressives Youth Forum (OAPYF), Comrade Olateju Olorungbebe Adunni has urged the youths across the state to ensure that they have their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) by making themselves available for Voters Registration at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office nearest to them if they have not registered before.

Adunni gave the advice while addressing the youth of Irewole, Isokan and Ayedade Federal Constituency at the town hall meeting held in Ikire.

The town Hall meeting is being organized by Osun All Progressives Youth Forum (OAPYF) across the state.

Speaking, the Coordinator disclosed that the advice had become necessary as it would enable them to make a well-informed decision on who represents them at the various levels of government come 2019 as well as in the coming gubernatorial election.

“We will be failing in our duties if we fail to tell you of the power that you have as eligible voters; you have enormous electoral power to elect any candidate of your choice but you can only do this if you have your PVC”, Adunni said.

The coordinator further explained that PVC is the only weapon with which the youths can claim their rights.

“I want to implore the youth above the age of 18 in this state, especially those who have not registered, to ensure they register with INEC, with a view to securing their PVCs that would enable them participate in the coming election.

“Voter’s card is the weapon that could be used by the electorate to choose candidates of their choice.”

The Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Bola Oyebamiji in his address said Governor Rauf Aregbesola will soon begin payment of  full salary.

He disclosed that some measures are also being put in place by the Governor to boost the economy of the State.

Oyebamiji thereby urged the youth to work with the party to achieve positive result in the fourth coming election.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperative and Industries, Hon. Alagbada Jayeoba, while  speaking commended Aregbesola for giving Youth the opportunity to participate in the new parliamentary system of government.

Jayeoba disclosed that Aregbesola has given over N3.5 billion Loan across the state to reduce poverty.

Echoing a similar view,  Commissioner for Science, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Remi Omowaye also praised Aregbesola on infrastructural developments across the state.

Enumerating some of the achievements of Governor Aregbesola within the space of seven years, Omowaye said, Chief Bisi Akande Trumpet Bridge on Gbongan Ibadan road will save life and reduce accident.

He however charged the youth to be active in the party, adding that there are lot of chances for them to be a leader.
