Ekiti Election: APC Stalwart, Adefowope Congratulates Fayemi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Hon Diekola Ismail Adefowope has joined other well-wishers across the country to congratulate Ekiti state Governor-elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi over his victory in the Saturday’s election.

Fayemi, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, polled 197,459 votes, to defeat his strongest contender, Prof Kolapo Olusola, of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 178,121 votes.

Adefowope in a congratulatory message signed and made available to newsmen on Monday in Iwo, Osun state described Fayemi’s victory at the poll as well-deserved, heartwarming and good news to democracy.

The Federal House of Representatives aspirant, Iwo Federal Constituency said Fayemi’s victory had confirmed its earlier position that Ekiti people were determined “to move away from the era of glorifying poverty.”

He commended the people of Ekiti for their determination to ensure that the state is returned back to it progressive fold, adding that through the vote, people of Ekiti have decided to move away from the era of glorifying poverty and embracing pittance.”

Adefowope also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agents for ensuring a hitch-free exercise.

He, however, charged Fayemi not to fail to deliver on its campaign promises.

The Iwo born politician also used the opportunity to appeal to the people of Osun to cast their vote for APC in the coming September 22 gubernatorial election so as to continue to enjoy devidend of democracy in the state.

On behalf of the good people of Iwo Federal constituency and Osun in general I congratulate Dr Fayemi on his election as the new governor of Ekiti state and wish him all the best.”

“I believe the outcome of the election reflects the will of the people. The people actually spoke. “However, I urge Fayemi to see his victory as a call to service to meet the expectations of Ekiti people.”

“I advise him not to betray the trust reposed in him and disappoint the people who came out en mass and speak in one voice , but to work for the collective interest of everyone in the state.”
