Taekwondo As Self Defence Development Tool
Taekwondo martial art as a self defense discipline practiced for sport, self-defense, and spiritual development has been described as the best sport for children in recent times, particularly as a defence techniques to prevent assault.
According to the press statement issued and made to CityMirrorNews by the Commissioner, Ministry of Social Protection, Sports and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade, he stated that Taekwondo sport exist in Osun state and it is growing daily via development of children and youths involved in the fast growing sport.
Comrade Odunlade proudly mentioned that basic knowledge of Taekwondo makes one fit, self confident, focused and equipped with self defence skills, and that State of Osun Taekwondo players have done competitions and made the State proud by emerging with Trophies at different categories.
Comrade Odunlade, announced that State of Osun Taekwondo Association, affiliated to Nigerian Taekwondo Federation will hold its National Conference for South West Zone Coaches in Osogbo the state capital.
He stated that the national coaches conference which will run for two days, is the first in the history of the state of Osun, and will be declared open by the Governor State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Monday February 19, 2018 at Fakunle Unity High School, Osogbo.
Highlighting the participants of the conference as coaches, trainers, athletes, he also stated that school students in Elementary, Middle and High schools are expected alongside students of tertiary institutions, and youths, as well as parents interested in the know-how of Taekwondo and its benefits of empowerment for their children.
