Ede communities Agog As Zakat Foundation Donates Water Projects

The joy of the people of the ancient town of Ede and its suburbs knew no bounds last Sunday when Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, a faith-based organisation commissioned many water projects in different communities

The projects, code named: Free Water Projects were executed in collaboration with Ede Welfare Initiative to alleviate the sufferings of people who were in need of portable water.

The commissioning took the convoy from Ede Central Mosque around 11:00am to varying locations namely: Buhari Ishola, Gaa Baba Eji, Oke-Langbodo and Owode-Edecommunities respectively.

The first point of call were the projects at Buhar-Ishola, Toluwalase/Bolohunduro at Gaa Baba-Eji communities within Ede township.

The symbolic certain raising ceremony for the two pipe borne water projects were respectively commissioned by the Grand Imam of Ede Land, Sheikh Mas’ud Oseni Akajewole and the Imam of Haramain Mosque Ede, Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy Olagunju.

The commissioning of the other two projects at Oke-Langbodo and Owode-Ede communities were similarly performed by the Chief Imam of Ansaruddeen, Ede, Sheikh Ibraheem Dende Adekilekun and the Olu of Owode-Ede, Alhaji Nurain Oyedepo Abdul-Azeez.

The Executive Director of the Foundation, Prince Sulaiman Olagunju expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for guiding them to service to humanity . He also thanked the benefactors of ZSF for their unwavering support which has enabled the organisation in creating socio-economic balance in the society.

“I urged the wealthy individuals and philanthropists to partner with us on our various service like: empowerment programmes, Widows and Orphans Support, Senior Citizens’ Support, Free Medical Support, Free Water Projects, IDPs Support, Prison Inmates and People with Disabilities Support and Distribution of Fairly Used Materials, to mention a view by paying their Zakat and Sadaqat and donate good materials to the Foundation.

“I also enjoin you to endeavour to visit our website www.zakatandsadaqat.org.ng or its various offices to give your widow’s mite which we eventually use in executing our projects.”

The ZSF Administrative Officer for Osun State, Mallam Moshood Olaoye explained that the Foundation has series of programmes and projects toward eradicating people’s sufferings. He stressed that givers don’t lack and are assured of abundant reward from Allah in both worlds.

Congratulating the beneficiaries, the Chairman, Ede Muslim Council, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman-Rufai Babatunde-Elesin implored them to maintain the facilities, they should appreciate the fact that they were fortunate to be chosen among many other needy communities.

Community Responses

Responding, the leaders, members, and particularly women in the beneficiary-communities could not hide their joy and were full of praises and prayers for the foundation.

Alhaji Ismail Olalekan and Mr Bashiru Ahmed the leaders of Toluwalase/Bolohunduro communities who thanked the foundation on behalf their members, promised to maintain the facilities, in addition to pledging to take the message to the wealthy individuals to support the foundation.

Mr Mukhtar Adedamola-Adegbenro, the Chairman of Buhari Ishola community thanked Allah for the opportunity and for blessing the country with the likes of Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, just as he also prayed for the benefactors who have been sustaining the charitable organisation.
