He promised, if elected governor, never to embark on any project that would fail.

Adeleke spoke against the backdrop of Ido Osun MKO Abiola Airport project, which the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said that though, the project was still his priority, it’s concessionaire that has been cancelled during the last edition of ‘Ogbeni Till Day Break’, an all night interactive programme held in Osogbo during the weekend.

The federal parliamentarian, posited that pursuing developmental projects already programmed to fail at the expense of giving meagre salary earners their dues smacks of wickedness and greed, saying “Nothing can be more inhumane.”

Senator Adeleke in a statement released by his media office in Ede, said rather than building delusional, self serving castles of failures, few bridges and roads paved with skulls of the vulnerable, Osun’s needs must properly prioritised, planned and  approached based on available resources without having to ‘waste’ many souls over projects that would eventually fail.

He said Osun would not have been ranked a poor state, if its resources had not been misapplied and mismanaged, stressing the need to approach its development with ‘home-grown’ strategy, carefully designed to develop its infrastructure without jeopardizing the wellbeing of the citizenry.

The statement reads in parts: “Strangely, many people in positions of authority will setup a project they are sure would never succeed, but because of what they will gain from such, the general interest of the populace becomes secondary.

“Osun has its needs and if I am elected governor, it will be development with human face. We will grow and provide for needs according to available resources. Paving few tarred roads with skulls of havesnot is never a sign of strategic thinking, but an indication of fatuity in governance.

“We have our blueprint already. We wont kill anyone because we want to tar Osogbo/Iwo road. Osun is made poor by some people that chose to line corporate and some individuals’ pockets with its commonwealth.

“Ours will be development without tears and with the support of the good people of Osun, we shall end the suffering and untold hardship brought by our tormentors.”
