A House of Representatives aspirant in Akure South/North Federal Constituency of Ondo state in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Mayokun Alade LAF, has revealed that the party did not conduct any legislative primary in Akure South/North area of the state on Friday.
Alade while speaking with journalists during the weekend said ,“There was no election in Akure south and north. That’s why we aspirants came together to have a unite voice like coalition to state categorically that people from the state government are trying to compromise the election.
“We had a meeting with the Secretary to the state government, the apex body in the government and they never told us that we are going to have any consensus candidates, we spent millions of naira, we went for the screening. This is a progressive party but I did not see any progression in the party.
The aspirant enjoined all stakeholders in the state to come together for APC candidates in order to win the forthcoming general elections at the state and national level.
He however, reaffirmed his commitment and dedication to the All Progressives Congress and declared his loyalty to the leadership of the Party at the State and National levels.
“Thugs were shooting at Iju/Itaogbolu on the day of election, in Akure there was no election at all and we are not going to agree to any imposition. The leadership of the party in Akure are trying to impose aspirants on people. They must come together and explain exactly where we are going before the general elections.
“We have to conduct a new primary in Ondo state, because if there was no new election that means APC will not have candidates in the forthcoming general election. Am going to stand with APC, but it is better will stay together to fight a common course, what we are asking for is free and fair primary”, he added.
