Osun 2018: House Of Reps Member,   Omidiran, Aregbesola Take Campaign To Markets

As the preparation for  the Osun State governorship election is at the top gear, a member of House of Representatives, Mrs. Ayo Omidiran and wife of Osun State governor, Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola had taken campaign to markets. 

Mrs. Omidiran , alongside Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, Commissioner for women affairs, Alhaja Lateefat Giwa, Osun APC women leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fabokunde and others stormed markets in Osogbo, Olohunda, Irepodun and Orolu federal constituency on Wednesday to canvass vote for the APC standard bearer, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola. 

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the markets,  Omidiran emphasised the role women must  play in advancing nation’s democracy.

She said, in an industrialised society, the role of woman transcend sitting at home, make food, take care of her children and serve as sex mate for her husband alone.

According to Omidiran, “as women, we must wake up to the democracy of our great nation, Nigeria. This nation must be salvaged again from the hands of looters. APC government has proven to us that we need to uphold hardworking which elevate our dignity as a nation. 

“APC government is the only party that gives premium to women inclusiveness in politics. This is how women must be treated in an industrialized society. This is part of what motivated those of us  who the party has brought to the political limelight  to come and canvass support for this great party, APC and its candidate, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola. 

“Beyond the myopic sight of the formal administration, APC led government by Rauf Aregbesola has given the state a new look in terms of infrastructure and other areas”, she said. 

She also urged those who are yet to collect their Permanent Votes Card (PVC) to visit Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office.

Also, the  wife of Osun state governor , Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola in her address rallied support for Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola as she raised the hand of Mrs Kafayat Oyetola and pleaded with market women to elect her as the next first lady of Osun State in September gubernatorial poll.

In her address,  Mrs Aregbesola charged the market women to vote for the APC and let the good governance continue for the betterment of the people in the state.

She stressed that opposition parties have no programme  for the residents of Osun than to tell lies against the present government that transform the state to a new look. 

She emphasized that APC government would continue to provide opportunities for women to participate in politics and advance their  society.

The Osun first lady used the occasion to announce Mrs Kafayat Oyetola as her successor, saying she was very optimistic that Oyetola would emerge victorious.
