They are to draw up support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to launch his presidential ambition ahead of the election in 2019.
Speaking at the ceremony, the South-West Coordinator, Comrade Adewumi Abiola, sought the support of the youths in the region for Atiku Abubakar so that he could actualize his presidential ambition in 2019.
Abiola also solicited the cooperation of the zone for Atiku, saying he was the only man they could trust and rely on.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has touched the lives of youths particularly and many Nigerians when it comes to providing employment opportunity to the teeming unemployed youths. “If Atiku is given the mandate to lead, joblessness and poverty would become a thing of the past.
“We will like to further emphasized the needs for the the South-West in particular and Nigeria as a whole to give Atiku Abubakar needed supports, as he remain the only aspirant with the best profile and wealth of experience to rule our nation, Nigeria
“We have looked at the profiles of those currently aspiring to contest for president on the platform of PDP in 2019. We have identified Abubakar, as the only one with the character and content, political will and capacity required to bring the needed transformation that Nigerians are yearning for,” he said.
“Let us put away petty sentiments and come together as one united people in the interest of our country Nigeria, to support and vote Atiku Abubakar and his party, the PDP, in the upcoming general elections, because, patriotism as they say, has no political party.
“We also call on all Nigerian youths and women groups, to key into the agenda of this organization so that, together, we can change this fake change government, and enthrone Atiku Abubakar, as the next president of Nigeria.”
Inaugurating the Southwest Coordinator, the National Coordinator of the group , Ike Bishop Okoronkwo, said it was high time for Nigerians to allow the man who is really ready to transform the county.
Okoronkwo who bemoaned the level of insecurity and the economic downturn currently facing the country attributed the problems to failure of present administration to put the right people in the right position.
“Many things are going wrong in this country because of lack of good leadership. Most of the people at helms of affairs are not fit.
We have strong conviction that Atiku is the one Nigerian that will boost the nation’s human capital development. He has the track record to lead the country out of the current quagmire,” he said.
