Olokun Festival Foundation Begins Annual Eledumare Festival

Foremost socio- cultural group, Olokun Festival Foundation (OFF), has started the 2018 edition of its annual festival.

In a statement signed yesterday by the Media Relation Officer, Prince Adebowale Samusideen Olarenwaju, said the annual event was scheduled to hold daily for 21 days, climaxing with a grand finale on March 20.

“We are pleased to tell the world that our annual Eledumare festival began yesterday Wednesday February 28, with a special Obeisance and prayer to Eledumare. The prayer was observed by Muslim and clerics and the traditionalists.

The programme was scheduled to hold for 21 days.”

According to him, he said :”Between now and March 20, A lot of  activities have been lined up on daily basis for this year event. The programme schedule include:  media luncheon, March 1, Taekwando, March 2, Fashion Show, March 3, Ayo Olopon, March 4, Table Tennis competition, March 5, Harvest of praise, March 6, visit to partial blind  and disabled school, , March 7,visit to the Arts Gallery, March 8, and visit to  the motherless home, March 9,Lecture, March 10. Cultural competition, Boxing and Football competition will hold between March 11 and March 13.

Other activities  include; Day with the Children, March 14, Beach Soccer, March 15,Yoruba Quiz Competition, March 16, Day with the Widows, March 17, Photo Exhibitions, March 18, Festival Float, March 19.

The grand finale will hold in Iganmu, in March 20, in Iganmu, Lagos.

Olanrewaju, said the event is one of the various activities of the organization designed to promote the socio-cultural tradition of the Yoruba race.

“OFF is the foremost socio cultural organization in the country that promotes the Yoruba culture and traditions. This is what we are known for and I can assure you that this year edition will turn out to be the best in history”, he said.
