A statement signed by the secretary general to the coalition, Barr Christopher Dada, which was made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday frowned that the minister did not find any FCT native worthy and competent enough to be appointed into top positions in the FCT administration.
Dada maintained that the coalition, which is a conglomerate of the various FCT indigenous associations, believes and considers the nature and manner of the appointments by the minister as anti-FCT natives, because only two out of the 16 appointments were given to the natives.
He noted that in previous administrations in the FCT, especially the immediate past administration, the FCT natives were more and considerably carried along in appointments into agencies and departments under the FCTA.
The statement also described the appointments of Hon. Tanko Yamawo as coordinator of Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) and Hon. Isah Dara Bwari as community relations officer, as inadequate representation and a mockery to the FCT natives.
He continued: “The coalition sees these appointments as unfair and a true reflection of the minister’s hatred for the natives of the FCT.
We also wish to draw the attention of the Hon. Minister to the fact that we are aware of the illegalities in the running of his administration with acting directors for a period exceeding one year and still counting without the substantive directors, is seen as a deliberate aberration and a misnomer.”
The coalition therefore urges the FCT minister, to as a matter of integrity, respect the rule of law and equal share of democratic dividends rejig his cabinet for effective and proficient administration
