Osun Holds Special Prayer For PMB Quick Health Recovery

Religious leaders in Iwo on Thursday converged on the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo to pray for continued good health of President Muhammadu Buhari and the success of Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The interdenominational prayers featured Islamic, Christian and Traditional Clerics. ‎

The Iwo Muslim Community led by the Chief Imam, Sheik Abdulfatai Olododo, through Sheik Abdul Mumin emphasized the need for religious tolerance among all religious groups.

Likewise, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigerian Iwo Chapter, Pastor Caleb Ayoola seeks God’s face to heal the president.

The Traditionalists coordinated by Chief Ojetunde Ajibowu also offered prayers for the President, Governor Aregbesola and the Oluwo. ‎

In her remarks, Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari represented by the Wife of the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Mrs Halimot Alli appreciated the Oluwo and Nigerians for their relentless prayers for her husband. ‎

‎She urged them to continue their support for the present administration. ‎

The chairman of the event who is the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa commended Oluwo for conveying such prayers.

Obasa who was represented by Hon Tunde Buraimoh lauded the Oluwo for his efforts at ensuring that President Buhari gets the needed spiritual support for the success of his administration.

The convener of the prayers who doubles as the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi underscored the importance of offering prayers for the success of leaders.

Oba Akanbi charged Nigerians irrespective of religious affiliation to continue praying for President Buhari, saying the programme will be organized yearly to seek the face of God for the nation’s leaders.

“We must continue to pray for our leaders. Anybody can fall sick. Those calling for the resignation of President Buhari based on his sickness are enemies of the country”, he stressed.‎

Dignitaries at the interdenominational prayers include the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola, the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Barr Musa AbdulWasiu, Traditional Rulers in Iwo Kingdom, High Chiefs in Iwoland among others.‎
