Beware Of 419, I Do Not Have Any Facebook Account, Osun Chief Of Staff Warns Public

The Chief of Staff to Osun State Governor, Alh. Gboyega Oyetola has warned the general public to beware of some impostors posing as him on facebook to feed the public with false information regarding his office for fraudulent gain.

Alhaji Oyetola in a statement issued and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, he said the impostors pose with the names “ISIAKA GBOYEGA OYETOLA” and “ ALHAJI  GBOYEGA OYETOLA” to feed unsuspecting members of the public with false information and updates regarding him and the office he hold with Osun State Government under the pretence of soliciting for funds, job and contract opportunities with the sole aim of duping them.

The Chief of staff  maintained that he did not operate or have any facebook account or any social media platform and neither did he authorize anybody to solicit for donations or advertise vacancies for job opportunities on his behalf.

He bemoaned the actions of the scammers saying ” I strongly dissociate myself and my office from these shady personalities and cautioned the general public to discountenance such dubious and irresponsible solicitations”.

According to him, “My attention has been drawn to the existence of SCAMMERS/IMPOSTORS on Facebook masquerading and hiding as, and impersonating me. I have received series of information on the accounts opened referencing me as the owner/operator of such accounts”.

“The impostors ply their scams with the names “ISIAKA GBOYEGA OYETOLA” and “ ALHAJI  GBOYEGA OYETOLA” and feed unsuspecting members of the public with false information and updates as regards my person and the office I hold with the Government of the State of Osun, under the pretense of soliciting for funds, job and contract opportunities with the sole aim of duping them”.

” I strongly dissociate myself and my office from these shady personalities and warn the general public to beware and discountenance such dubious and irresponsible solicitations”, he warned.

“I acknowledge the advent of the social media platforms with its attendant benefits, though with few skirmishes and negatives inferences such as this, I DO NOT operate or have any Facebook account on any social media platform as at today, neither did I authorize nor ask anyone to solicit on my behalf for donations or advertise vacancies for job opportunities”.

Alhaji Oyetola warned those behind the dastardly acts to desist from such operations forthwith saying ” there would be dire consequences when eventually caught”.

He said he is currently working to see to it that such mischievous accounts are rendered completely inactive.

He however advised the public to be watchful and observant and report operators of such pseudo and fake accounts to law enforcement agencies.
