Police Arraign Woman for Alleged Breach of Peace, Malicious Damage in Osun

A 42-year-old woman, Kikelomo Oladipupo, was on Thursday arraigned in an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court, over alleged breach of peace, conspiracy, malicious damage and harassment.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi, told the court that the accused committed the offense on Feb. 16 at about 4:50pm at Igbonna area, Osogbo.

Ajayi said the accused conspired with one Military Officer called Ameh Sunday from Lagos to harass one Adeniyi Jones which led to breach of public peace and malicious damage.

He said, Kikelomo was having a headlock with the complainant over a business transaction which did not go well with them before calling on the military officer to harass the Adeniyi.

The Prosecutor said the accused and her conspirator damaged a fish cool room and a meter board with a cut out which total value worth about N7.7 Million.

He said the offense contravened sections 516, 249(d), 451, 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the count charges preferred against her.

The accused had no legal representatives due to the ongoing lawyers boycott in courts.

The Magistrate, Mrs Habibatu Bashiru, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties in the like sum.

Bashiru said , the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payments and two passport sized photographs attached with an affidavit of means.

She said one of sureties must be a civil servant on grade level 14 while the other a close relative to the accused.

The case was adjourned to April. 7 for hearing
