This commendation is contained in a press statement issued by the national President and secretary, Chief Babajide Bewaji and Kamal Oloso and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Thursday

Association applauded the determination of the governing council after due consultation with the two governors to reopen the university by September 15th, describing as a good development.

According to the statement “It is incumbent on us as the major stakeholders of the Lautech project to lend our voice of commendation to the Oyo and Osun state governments for the assurances and high hopes that our alma mater will be consciously reawakened back to active and functional academic state through the release of subvention to cater for 6months salary of the striking unions”

“We are also mindful for the painstaking selection of highly cerebral and progressive minded individuals to reposition the university, this is in furtherance of their demonstration and firm belief that the legacies and ideals of the founding fathers must not be ruptured or withered away. They have been able to sustain the Lautech dreams in a more redefined perspective for transparency and accountability through their insistence for a thorough forensic auditing of the university books.

“Our moments of waiting and dashed frustration over the last few months is gradually coming to a halt, as the fatherly and matured conduct of Prof. Oladapo Afolabi and other council members in handling the KPMG auditing, workers agitation and demands, promulgation of sustainable development plans to make Lautech independent in fashioning a more robust concept as obtained in advanced universities of the world is very remarkable.

“We have been assured by Governors Abiola Ajimobi and Rauf Aregbesola after a detailed and analytical presentation by Mr. Jide Bewaji at the Osun State government house on the KPMG audit report, mechanism for growth patterns & sustainability, and thirty eight (38) days council engagements of LAUTECH governing council which was welcomed with a resounding applause, all in a bid to enable students return back to classrooms next week with registration of second semester commencing September 25th.

“We shall continue to offer constructive and workable solutions in the enhancement of technology driven innovation for our institution, our continuous partnership with the governors will remain cordial and open for creative models in ensuring excellence and service to the Nigeria and the World at large. This is our solemn vow to all our alumni members, students, parents, host community and staff to pilot the affairs of the association successfully and return it to the best university in the West African region”
