Cabals Influencing Aregbesola To Smear Truthful APC Leaders In Osun – Fatai Diekola

A leader of the All Progressives Congress In Osun State, Alhaji Fatai Diekola has alleged that some cabals in the kitchen cabinet of Governor Rauf Aregbesola are influencing the Governor to taking wrong decisions which is affecting the party.

According to him, these cabals have also succeeded in ensuring that their will prevails even if anyone outside their camp in the party is not satisfied.

Diekola who stated this while featuring on a political programme, Oro Oselu on Rave fm in Osogbo on Monday stated that these individuals have shielded Aregbesola from the truth, leaving him to disregard the opinion of juggernauts that have the real truth to say.

His words “You see as we speak, there are some cabals that surround the Governor in the corridors of power. They beat the drums of (majo lo, mo nweyin re) for him, unknowingly they are the ones spoiling the game and the party for the rest of us.”

“When situations arise, I always go to meet the Governor and tell him the fact because I’m a core politician and I bend to whatever the people want. Look at how those crooks handled the primaries for the upcoming Local Government Election, they removed the names of people touted not to be in good terms with Aregbesola because of their selfish interests.”

The Osogbo born politician said the workings of these “cabals” are bent on destroying the APC in the state as actions of himself and his followers are clarion calls to fight injustice in the party.

“All we are doing is to fight injustice in the APC. For example, when the primaries were held, we are the ones campaigning for the true tenets of politics in our party. They started with the removal of some party excos believed to be loyal to me in positions, they are party spoilers,” Diekola stressed.

“Those who even won the primaries for the LG election at different ward levels were later sidelined as they were said to be Diekola boys.”

The APC Leader maintained that he is not retorting to return to the PDP despite his detention at the Ilesa prison over claims he worked for the opposition during the recent Osun West By-elections.

He said “We had a group shortly after Senator Isiaka Adeleke died called Adeleke Solidarity Movement, the Adeleke family wanted to start helping politicians and non politicians in the state when the frontline politician died. The group is a combination of all leaders from all political parties who are convinced not to let Adeleke’s legacy in politics shrink after his demise.”

“We urged the Governor to take Ademola Adeleke since it was his brother who left the position in honour of the family. He did everything he was supposed to do and was cleared but some of these so called “cohorts” in Aregbesola’s camp said no. After that, he was disqualified and maltreated. When he had to defect to the PDP to fuel his ambition, I said I was not leaving the APC but restated my support for him. That was why they tagged me someone that worked for the opposition.

Diekola added that “I am still a member of the APC. In 2014 when we were working for Aregbesola’s second term, Oyinlola and Adeleke’s defection to the APC was never without my efforts. We formed the APC together and I cannot abandon a party where I worked so well to build.”
