Osun Water Corporation Appeals to Residents to Pay Water Bill

The General Manager, Osun State Water Corporation, Engr Gbenga Owojuyigbe, has appealed to residents to pay water bills so as to enable the corporation provide good services.

Owojuyigbe made the appeal during a chat with our correspondent in Osogbo, Osun state capital, yesterday.

According to the water corporation boss, refusal of some users of public water to pay their bills has been the bane of regular supply of water in the state.

He said the corporation was doing everything necessary to ensure that water get to individual home in the state, promising that the state would be the best in the area of water supply.

” I want to tell you that we have provided ‘Wet-duct’ to serve as alternative for those that were affected by the ongoing construction of roads.

“With the available wet-duct provided along the roads, people can connect their pipe and get water to their houses. We did it on each side because we don’t want pipeline to cross the road.

He also debunked allegation that some communities did not have access to water in the last four months, saying “we have challenges in some communities about a month ago and we are making serious efforts to settle it.

The Osun Water Corporation boss emphasised that, the Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s led administration in the state is always trying to avert water born diseases which is making the Corporation to ensure that adequate drinkable water is supply to the entire people of the state all the times.

“We equally want to appeal to our people to pay their water bills because government can not do everything. If government is trying to let us live comfortably, we should also support government to succeed.

Owojuyigbe, promised to put more effort towards ensuring adequate supply of water to all houses in the state.

He however, called on the people of the state to ensure cordial relationship with the corporation with a view to work together for the success of the present
administration.
