Osun Government Expends 800 Million Naira On Mechatronics Institute

Inspite the financial quagmire ravaging the country in which Osun state was not an exceptional, the Osun State Government has sustained its quest to industrialise the state through the provision of basic necessity to improve on the general well-being of the citizenry.

The state government under the leadership of Governor Rauf Aregbesola had invested tremendously in humanity especially the youths whose government’s policies and programmes had directly impacted.‎
W‎ith the setup of the Bola Ige Mechatronics Institute BIMI, in Esa-Oke, which was established and commissioned in 2015 by the state government of Osun, the feat was made without any sense of doubt as  the state provided a platform for youth to grow.
The institute was established to train, engage brilliant minds in the industry and be a rallying point in terms of applying technology in the automobile world.‎
It’s no gain say that the institute is the first of its kind in Africa. However, the  vision for the institute began with the need to empower youths and equip artisans with the requisite skills to be relevant in an increasingly digital world.‎
‎The institute since its inauguration had trained on-the-street mechanics from garages and candidates from automobile companies.

As the world is fast changing with modern trends in every corner of life, the Bola Ige Mechatronics Institute has trained both literate and non-literate mechanics coupled with experienced hands in the business of repairing automobiles in the country.‎
Aside its place as the first in Nigeria, it has also afforded 40 of the state’s indigenes to have the opportunity to train in Germany with some of the best hands in Mechatronics the world over giving them more knowledge about the technological innovation.‎
With Support from the National Automotive Council, the BIMI is also building and improving artisans skills in the sector, the state government has spent 800 million naira in making this initiative become a reality.
Its features include three computerized mechanical workshops for assembling and repair of various automobile vehicles.‎
Day in day out, the institute is moving forward, advancing in technology and providing platforms for young auto-mechanics to learn more and become the technologically viable mechanics.‎
And from a small town of Esa-Oke in Osun State, there comes a Mechatronic Institute where both mechanical engineers and technicians gather to innovate, learn and move the automobile industry of Osun, the South West and the Nigerian Federation forward as made possible by the one and only Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola!
