The proposed industrial action of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) and other labour unions scheduled to hold tomorrow Wednesday has been put on hold.

A Nation Industrial Court on Tuesday restrained the NLC, TUC, NULGE and other labour unions from embarking on the proposed strike.

The labour unions have shown readiness to down tools to protest the increment in the fuel price by the Federal Government.

But the FG, through the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), approached the industrial court to secure an order restraining the labour unions from embarking on the planned strike.

The President of the court, Justice Babatunde Adejumo granted the prayer of the federal government, as he restrained the labour unions from embarking on the strike.

It would be recalled that the meeting between the labour unions and the federal government held on Monday was deadlocked as both parties could not reach a compromise.

The labour unions had asked the federal government to reverse to the old fuel price of N86.50, but the government pleaded with the labour organisations
