APC Inaugurates New Executives in Osun, Welcomes PDP Members to party

The All Progressives Congress, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State has inaugurated members of the party’s newly elected executives.

Members of the party had during its local government congress elected new executives led by Hon. Musefiu Sheu, to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Thousands of the members of the APC had stormed the party secretariat, Ilobu, where the inauguration ceremony took place on Sunday August 14, 2016

CityMirrorNews gathered that the party had not held its congress for the past four years.

While administering the oath of office on the newly inaugurated officials, a party chieftain in the local government, Alhaji Azeez Yellow-Oloba said the inauguration according to the APC constitution has pronounced the executives as the legally recognized custodians of the party’s ethos.

Speaking at the occasion which was witnessed by party faithful, the Special Adviser on Constituency Relation Matter to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Lasun Yussuff, Dr. Ajala Aderemi Sulaiman, explained that the party had not held any congress in the past four years, hence the reason for the inauguration of the new executives.

Dr. Ajala further explained that the APC Irepodun acted on the directive of the state party chairman who during the senatorial meeting instructed all local governments across the state to inaugurate their new executives.

He said with the new executives put in place, the party would be able to remain stronger and all internal crises would be solved without resorting to violence.

He, therefore, charged the newly inaugurated executives to work towards ensuring that the party succeeds in all future elections, saying nothing would stop APC from ruling the state in the next 16 years.

The newly inaugurated Chairman, Musefiu Sheu, who spoke on behalf of his excos, promised to discharge their duties diligently and resolve any misunderstanding that may ensue among the members.

He promised that the new executives would not betray the trust of the party, assuring that the executives would ensure victory of the party in any future elections.

Moreover, the newly elected chairman Hon. Sheu and other Chieftains of the party used the inauguration ceremony to welcome hundreds of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling APC, in the local government.

The defectors, led by a Chieftain of PDP, Kehinde Arerin, declared their support for the ruling party during the inauguration of the party.

While receiving the defectors, new Chairman, Hon. Sheu, other leaders of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Azeez Yellow-Oloba, Oloyede Basiru and, the father of the Deputy Speaker, Pa Yussuff Amuda, lauded the defectors for the decision to join their party.

The APC leaders advised the defectors to sustain the existing peace they met in their new party, assuring them of equal treatment.

They charged the defectors to work towards ensuring the victory of APC in their respective wards and be free to participate in all activities for the success of the party.

Speaking, Arerin stated that their intention to dump PDP was as a result of the instability of the party and failure to harmonize their differences.

He promised to cooperate with APC and ensure its victory in any election in the state.

Speaking through a telephone call, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Lasun Yussuff, assured the defectors and other party members that the ongoing crisis within the legislators will soon be over.

He assured them that he would continue to work towards ensuring progress of APC no matter the criticism and hatred.

“I have passion for the development of my community even since I was younger, and I will not relent in making sure that the community witnesses a required and rapid development.

Other members of the executives are: Akinyemi Azzeez, Vice Chairman, Mutiu Tiamiyu, Secretary, Alhaja Sherifat Lawal, Women leader, Mrs Rasheed Owolabi , Assistance Women leader, Adesola Rasheed, PRO, Mukaila Bakare Olokuta, youths leaders, Rasheed Oyegbami, Organizing Secretary among others.
