A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun state, Engr Jide Adeniji, has attributed defection of politicians from one party to another to lack of ideology.

Adeniji in an exclusive chat with our correspondent stated that politicians see nothing bad in defection because Nigeria is just maturing in politics.

The former boss, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, also assured that PDP will take over the government because people are tired of APC government.

He debunked insinuation in some quarters that the crisis in PDP will make it difficult for the party to reclaim power, assuring that South West have agreed to share its three position without rancour.

He noted that the National Secretariat has zoned the Secretary, Publicity Secretary and National Auditor to the South West, promising that come May 21, the party will have its leaders.

“Political parties in Nigeria have no ideology at all. APC has no ideology different from PDP and vice versa. That is why it is easy to cross-carpet from one party to another.

“If there is strict ideology difference, there won’t be these cross-carpeting. We are just maturing in politics. There will be a time when it will be difficult for somebody in one device to cross over to the other device.

“Each individual has his or her own reason. Some people cross-carpet because of cogent and reasonable reason, some because of lack of principle, some because of lack of contentment, some because of treachery because a lot of people are treacherous.

Commenting on the problem facing the government of Osun state, Adeniji said people are tired of the government in the state.

He said “my politics is not a politics of destruction. Governor Aregbesola is a very intelligent person. He is doing what he knows how to do best and ruling the state the best way he thinks he can rule.

“People in Osun state are tired of APC because of a lot of problem in the state. It may not be man-made, but masses does not want to know why it is happening. People are working and they want to get payment.
