Ondo 2016: AGF Condemns Alleged Fraudulent Guber Primary, Urges APC, Presidency to Bring Culprits to Book

A group, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation, AGF has condemned the alleged fraudulent process in Ondo State All Progressives Congress Governorship Primary that produced Barr. Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s flag bearer in Akure last Saturday.

It called for thorough investigation into the allegation and necessary penalty against the perpetrators of the alleged manipulation.

The group stated this in a press statement jointly signed by the foundation’s National Secretary; Otunba Adeleye Akintola and its National Publicity Secretary; Cmrade Adeboye Adebayo and made available to CityMirrorNews in Lagos on Friday.

The group, however, called on the National Body of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to look deeply into the matter beyond sentiments and bring the perpetrators to book to save the dignity of the party.

It also urged the Presidency to take interest in the matter because it was alleged that a northern governor and some federal ministers were involved in the whole exercise.

”For us at the Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation, we are very concerned because of the roles allegedly played by some people that we are looking forward to as role models, we are highly disappointed in them and we urge the national body of our great party and the presidency to look deep into the whole exercise and bring perpetrators of the alleged fraud to book to save the integrity of our party.

The group also reiterated the commitment and loyalty to their principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and mentor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, saying no person or group of persons will be allowed to rubbish them or strained their relationship under any guise or for whatever reasons.
