This was contained in a memo issued and made available to CityMirrorNews by the leadership of the institution’s SRC just as copies of the statement were pasted around the school premises.

While the Treasurer and the Vice President of the Union were impeached for illegally obtained #45,800 from the account of the Union.
The duo were also impeached for persistently engaging in gross financial misconduct and for conspicuous engaged in a wide misappropriation of the Union’s funds.
The statement reads in parts: “this honourable House deems it fit to suspend and impeach some of the erring elected officers of the Students Union over what it is considered as obvious impeachable and suspendable offences committed by the affected officers.
“The President and the Financial Secretary have been found guilty by the House for breaching the Union’s constitution by illegally withdrawing #12,340 from the union pulse without the approval of the SRC.
“In the same vein, the Auditor was suspended for being incompetent, ineffective and unscrupulous and as well using his office to perpetrate fraudulent acts overtimes.
“The House unanimously impeached the Vice President and the Treasurer for making withdrawal of #25,800 and #20,000 respectively from the Union’s purse illegally.
“They were also impeached for claiming to have used the Union’s fund to recover the Union’s stolen mace and as well repair its bus.
Confirming and reacting to the development, the suspended President of the Union who described the suspension as “expensive legislative jokes”, however claimed not to have committed any offence worthy of suspension.
He said he had sent a letter to notify the S.R.C on the withdrawal of the money which the legislative arm of the Union suspended him for, argued that they (SRC) was only playing politics on the matter.
Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the S.R.C Speaker, Olakunle Afeez proved abortive as calls and text messages put across his mobile phone were neither received nor replied.
