Dasukigate: At Last, EFCC Arrests Senator Iyiola Omisore
By Ibraheem Alli
Embattled Senator Iyiola Omisore has been arrested by the Economics and Financial Commission (EFCC), for his alleged involvement in the diversion of $2.1billion arms fund in the office of the National Security Adviser.
Sources in the EFCC disclosed to CityMirrorNews that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the August 9, 2014 gubernatorial election in Osun State was picked up by operatives of the anti-graft agency this morning at his house in Abuja.
As at the time of filing this report, Omisore was still in the custody of the EFCC, where he was cooling his legs, it was learnt.
Omisore was arrested for allegedly receiving a sum of N1.3billion from funds pilfered from the office of the NSA to fund and rig Governor Ayodele Fayose into office in 2014 in Ekiti State.
The EFCC had earlier declared Omisore wanted, while the former deputy governor of Osun State sued the commission for defamation of character, claiming that he was not on the run.
