The Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Local Government Pensions Board,
Mr Dare Ezekiel Olipede has been quizzed by operatives of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) over alleged fraud related matter.
Olipede who was recently appointed by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, was
accused of misappropriating of N60 Million while serving as a director in
Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The money which was meant for SURE’ P, was allegedly diverted by Olipede to his personal account.
The operatives of the SFU who reportedly stormed the Local Government Commission’s office by 9.00am did not leave untill 12pm as they had hectic time before they could gain entry to the Permanent Secretary’s office.
Findings revealed that Olipede declined following the operatives and
shouted on them with members of staff of his office allegedly embarassing the operatives.
It was learnt that Olipede made attempts to call governor Akeredolu, but his efforts were futile.
Investigation conducted by CityMirrorNews Correspondent revealed that it took the intervention of the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Gbenga Ale and the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Security matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo to calm the situation.
The operatives later whisked Olipede away to the headquarters of the
state Police Command along Igbatoro road, Akure following the petitions filed against him for allegedly diverting public fund to his personal account.
However, the Permanent Secretary was granted bail on personal recognition with the Permanent Secretary (cabinet) Mr. Gbenga Elewuju standing as surety for him.
