A Non-Governmental Organization, Famous Oat Foundation, (FOF), has advised the youths to think beyond getting white collar job after leaving higher institution and start using their skills and creativity in a bid to create employment opportunities.

The founder of FOF, Miss Tolulope Oguntoyinbo, gave the advice in Osogbo, Osun state capital, during the sensitization programme organized for female youths recently.

The theme of the programme which was tagged “Understanding the Right of Women” was targeted at female between the ages of 26 and 30 years.

According to Tolulope, the programme was organized to sensitize women and train them
on the need to take their rightful place in the society and use their gifts to the advantage of the Society.

She explained that the focus of the organization was to raise exceptional leaders with contagious passion to fulfill purpose and impact the world positively. One of the ways the Organization intend doing that is to raise exceptional women leaders as both women and men have vital roles to play in the process of nation-building.

“This organization also caters for orphans and vulnerable children because we believe that every child has a dream that can change the world. That’s why we groom children to start learning leadership skills through capacity building training, giving of scholarships, inter-school competitions among others.

“We realize that there is so much awareness creation today about the right of women and Girls, we need more of this so as to help women find their place in the society and end violence against women.

“This act has resulted to many more women breaking record and changing the world. To this end we would not stop encouraging women because we cannot all succeed if half of us are held back.”

The graduate of Linguistic who said she believes that youths have potentials to make things happen with or without the  government, frowned at the response of graduates to a youth oriented programme like  hers.

“Aside being a social worker, I’m an Entrepreneur. I’ve had several opportunity to get a paid job but I so much believe in what I’m doing. Not everyone of us would end up being an employee, some of us should create jobs too.

“Many youths wants opportunities and solutions, but don’t want to get out of their comfort zone to look for it. That explains why only few people want to attend a programme without financial benefit or assurance of an employment letter. If we are going to see that kind of Nigeria we desire and dream of, we all must play our part.
