Osun First Lady Applauds Medical Personnel, Calls For More Efforts In Promoting Good Pregnancy Care, Delivery Services

Wife of the Governor of Osun state, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola has commended the effort of the medical personnel in the State for the cardinal support they have given to the present administration through the delivery of health services in the state of Osun.

Mrs Aregbesola stated this today at Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital Osogbo while presenting the re- equipped and upgraded Labour ward at LAUTECH Osogbo to the management of the hospital.

The Wife of the Governor stated that the project which was carried out by Osun Officials Wives Association (OSUNWA) a body formed by the wives of elected and appointed official of government in the state is aimed to promote the human development needs and welfare of women in the state of Osun.

She further retirated that the decision of OSUNWA is stems from the priority given to issue of maternal and child health which make the NGO to deem it fit to bring improvement to quality of facilities and care that pregnant women and the newborns would have access to

Mrs Aregbesola stressed further that OSUNWA are firmly of the belief that the project will enhance the index of survival of the newborns and would also positively reduce the incidence of preventable and treatable neonatal causes.

She now appreciated the management of LAUTECH for allowing the body to carry out the modest intervention and she urged the management and the medical staff to consider the gesture as a further step to bring to the door steps of women good pregnancy care and delivery services.

Earlier in his address of welcome the Chief Medical Director LAUTECH teaching hospital professor Akeem Olawale Appreciated Osun Official Association for their Kind gestures to the hospital especially Labour ward adding that the equipment bought will impacted on their delivery services

Highlight of the programme was official Commissioning of the various Machines bought for the use in Labour ward.
