Nigerian Afrobeat singer and songwriter, Ayokanmi Olusegun Eyanro professionally known as Frequencie is carving a niche for himself in entertainment industry with steady release of good music to entertain, inspire and preach social change.
Frequencie has been consistently releasing inspiring songs filled messages of hope for the downtrodden, rich, poor, elites and every strata of the society. His genre of music is unique due to Afrocentric nature aimed at promoting African culture, language, music and interesting features of the continent. Frequencie who currently making waves in North Central of Nigeria effortlessly blend English and local languages to deliver his messages through Afrobeat.
He has been around and shining in the West Africa country music space for about 10 years, earning him opportunity to perform on the same stage with Grammy Award Nominee and son of Afrobeat legend (Fela Anikulapo Kuti), Femi Kuti at Felabration.
Beyond Music, Frequencie is emulating Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and top African artistes that also used their brand to advocate for social change. The Nigerian born Afro Rockstar is playing prominent role in standing for human rights and social justice.
Recently, Frequencie joined other Human rights activists to demand for stiffer punishment for rapists to #EndRapeCulture in the country. He also condemned in strong terms Police brutality and extra judicial killings by security agencies in the West Africa nation. Beyond using his music to advocate for social change and promoting African culture/values; he is taking a step further to demand for change policies to guarantee human rights and freedom as enshrined in United Nations Charter.
During recent elections, Frequencie produced song to warn against election violence and stepped out of his comfort zone to sensitize electorate on the need to be peaceful before, during and after electoral process. The Afrobeat singer takes #VoteDon’tfight to grassroots to support government and electoral body efforts in conducting credible, free and fair election in the country.
Apart from that the 27 year-old Artiste is working with his team to ensure actualization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), especially goal 6: Water and Sanitation and goal 13: Climate Action. Frequencie is preaching the tree planting culture and environment conservation attitude in North Central. He has disclosed his plans to launch #PlantaTree Campaign after COVID-19 restrictions in Nigeria.
Frequencie is not just making impact with his music but also addition value to the society through social activism.
