Osun Monarch urges Youths To shun Cultism, Drug Abuse

The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, His Royal Highest Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, Abikehin-Ekun Agunsoye ll, has urged the youths to engage in profitable jobs that would aid the development of the society and
shun violence, cultism and drug abuse.

Oba Agunsoye stated this during the ceremony of his first anniversary on the throne and coronation at Ijebu-Jesa High Grammar School, Ijebu-Jesa on Saturday.

The Royal Majesty added that Osun state is most peaceful state in Nigeria which accommodates all tribes without discrimination.

He implored the people of the state to be peace keeping for the growth of the society.

“I encourage you all to continue to sue for peace, avoid rancour and enmity. I enjoin our teeming youths to shun violence, cultism drug abuse and every acts that is detrimental to known ‘Omolubi’ virtues.”

Agunsoye ll also assured the people of Ijebu-Jesa to continue working for the peace, progress and development of the town.

He further said that the town has recorded many developments within his one year on the throne which has added to the beauty and story of the town.

In his words, “The last one year has been eventful and rewarding. We have experienced progress and development on many front. My immediate concern upon ascending the throne was to give Ijebu-Jesa a facelift to move the town its rightful position in ijesaland.

“The administrative block of the palace which was constructed by my predecessor, late Oba Taiwo Aribisala without being put to use was promptly renovated tastefully furnished with modern equipments, and is today a cynosure of all eyes.

“During the 27th anniversary of the creation of Osun State, some 14 major towns were researched and have historical books published on them. To the glory of God, Ijebu-Jesa was graciously selected and the has since been published.

“Ijebu-Jesa now boasts of a High Court, Magistrate Court, Primary Health Care Maternity Centre, the Monarch added.

Speaking, chairman of the day, Asiwaju of Ijebu-Jesa land, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, described Oba Agunsoye as a king that puts the interest of his people first for development of the town.

Fasuyi charged all the indigenes of the town to support the king for the continued progress of the town.

Groups, Markets women, artisans and farmers could not hide their happiness while presenting different types of graphic photo designs as gifts to rejoice with Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa.
